A lot of our customers in Laurel and across South Edmonton bring tires they found on Facebook Marketplace or Kijiji. We are happy to install them. Here is exactly how it works, so there are no surprises on the day.
Before you book: send us three photos
Message us with:
- Your door-jamb tire sticker (the placard with your vehicle's tire size).
- One sidewall of the tires you bought, showing the size.
- The date code (the four digits after "DOT").
We will look them over and tell you if anything stands out, like a size that does not match your vehicle or tires that are older than we would like. Then we book you a time.
What to bring
- All four tires (or however many you are changing).
- Your wheel lock key if your vehicle has locking lug nuts. This is the most common thing people forget, and we cannot remove the wheels without it.
- Your seasonal set, if you are also swapping wheels.
How we install them
1. Inspect before we touch your car. We check the size, date code, tread and both sidewalls of every tire, and look for bulges, bead damage and improper repairs.
2. Confirm the job and the price with you. If everything checks out, we confirm what we are doing and what it costs before any work starts.
3. Remove and mount. We take your wheels off, remove the old tires, check the rim where the tire seals, and mount the new-to-you tires.
4. Seat and inflate. We seat the beads and inflate to the pressure on your door-jamb placard, not the maximum printed on the tire.
5. Balance. Every tire change includes balancing, so the wheel spins smoothly at highway speed.
6. Reinstall. Wheels go back on and the lug nuts are tightened to your vehicle's specification.
7. Hand-back. We let you know anything we noticed, like uneven wear on the tires that came off, which can point to an alignment issue.
If we find a problem
Sometimes a tire that looked fine in photos has hidden damage, or turns out to be the wrong size. If that happens, we stop and talk to you before going further. We will show you what we found and explain your options. We may decline to mount a tire we believe is unsafe to drive on.
Customer-supplied tires: who is responsible for what
Please read this before you book.
- You are responsible for making sure the tires you bring are the correct size, type and condition for your vehicle before work begins. We did not sell you the tires, so we cannot guarantee their fit, age or condition.
- We inspect every tire before mounting and will flag anything we see, but some damage cannot be detected until a tire is mounted, inflated or balanced.
- We will always confirm the work and price with you before we start, and talk to you before doing anything beyond what you agreed to.

After your install
Check your lug nuts after the first 50 to 100 km, and check your tire pressure once the weather turns cold. See After your tire change for the details.
